I've been asked about doing some overlays for the Bratchell Class 455 EMU. Would anyone else be interested in overlays for the Bratchell Mk3 based EMUs? I have most types and liveries drawn up somewhere or other, so could quite easily adapt these to suit.
Watch out for news of an exciting range of overlays for Southern Region EMU stock, starting with the Class 421 4-CIG and Refurbished Class 411 4-CEP, in a variety of liveries.
Expect a MAJOR expansion of OO products in 2011 from Electra. Please drop me a line with any requests or suggestions. As I mainly model in N, don't be surprised if I ask for a loan of the base model, so I can take measurements!
By popular demand, I have produced a set of overlays to re-livery the Graham Farish Class 108 2-Car DMU in Network SouthEast livery. Simply pare away the raised door detail and place the vinyls over the top for an instant livery job! Just £10.00 for a set of overlays for a 2-car set.

I'm pleased to announce that the Class 501 North london / Watford DC EMU is once again available in N Gauge. This has been totally re-designed to fit on the GF Mk1 Suburban coaches, with minimal modification to the vehicle.
Despite the tiny size, I have been able to persuade the cutting machine to work around the distinctive window bars with excellent results.
Also, here are a couple of pictures of the first test build of the Class 312 EMU - as yet there is much to do but here's a taste of what's to come.

I've had a change of heart and decided to cut short my 3-week exile with the day job and return to Peterborough and Electra. Therefore, I'm happy to announce that normal service has been restored and I shall get to work on the backlog of orders from last week and the N Gauge Show.
Please note that I shall be working away from home for much of September due to "day job" commitments and there may be a delay in replying to e-mails and fulfilling orders. Normal service will be restored from October 3rd! Thanks in advance for your patience.
On a more positive note, I'd like to thank everone who visited the Electra stand at the N Gauge Show. I was overwhelmed by the positive response to the range and came back with much less stock than I arrived with!
We had early samples of castings for the Class 302 and 310 ends on show and these should be in production by the time I return from my 3-week exile to the West Midlands :-)

Now available to order are vinyl overlays for 90045 in the new Freightliner corporate livery - £5.00 a set

The real thing can be seen on the Freightliner website.
Please note this is a first test application and modifications will be made to the numbers and bodyside vents, along with some minor details. These overlays have been applied directly to a Railfreight 90 shell.
The bodyside panels for the Class 370 APT cut'n'shut conversions have been withdrawn pending a redesign. The current artwork makes getting an accurate cut very difficult and the failure rate is just too high at the moment.
More liveries added - 28/06/10

These vinyl packs include bodysides with separate doors and feature cut-outs to allow some of the more prominent side detail to show through - no work needs to be done on the donor vehicle watsoever and hardly any of the detail is compromised. I'm really pleased at how these have turned out.
Now a question - does anybody have any requests for a favourite 150/1 livery they would like to see (other than those already announced by GF)?
Planned liveries so far include:
The Class 150/2 is also due to follow in due course and these packs will also become available in OO Gauge soon.

First to be available will be the Refurbished Class 411 4-CEP EMU, designed to fit over suitably modified Bachmann or Hornby Mk1 coaches. Available in a range of liveries, including Blue-Grey, Jaffa Cake, Network SouthEast, Connex and SouthWest Trains. Price to be decided but expected to be around £30.00 for a 4-coach set.
If successful, other EMU types will be sure to follow, such as the Class 421 4-CIG and Class 423 4-VEP.

Class 325 Latest - Updated 08/03/09
Following a close look at the original tooling for the Class 325, we have decided not to re-use this but, instead, will be producing totally new CAD-designed tooling, featuring improved detail. This will include recessed doors on the bodysides. CAD work has commenced and a test PTS body has been produced.

The tooling is being designed to allow us to easily produce other MkIII units, with the Class 317/1, 455 and 319 planned.
Although this will mean a delay in production, the end result will be a much higher quality unit that can hold it's head up high alongside the fine RTR models now on the market.
Locomotive Page updated with details of complete bodyside vinyl packs for the Graham Farish Class 47 and 90.
Pictures now on-line

Livery pack now available for the new Arriva liveried MkII and MkIII coaches, now in use on the Cardiff-Holyhead services, consisting of 2x MkIID TSO, 1x MkIID BSO and MkIII RFM. All coaches carry the new dark blue livery with turquoise bodyside stripes.

The 323 is designed to compliment the kit by Etched Pixels to convert the Farish 158/159 into the much-admired EMU.
I have received a few expressions of interest in the Class 325 kit and am investigating comissioning a second batch. I shall endeavour to supply these as a complete (unpowered) kit, with bogies, wheels and couplings for around £90-£100.
The motorised chassis being developed for the 313 will fit in one of the centre cars and this will be available as a separate item.
Please mail me if you are interested.

On the drawing board is a set of vinyl bodyside overlays to easily re-livery the Graham Farish Class 47 and 57 into ANY other livery. I shall be producing these to order and building up the range as orders are received. The original 47 artwork is complete and I shall be doing the same for the new 47 and 57 mouldings. These overlays will be cut to allow the original windows to show through and enable the loco of your choice with minimal fuss.
Hot off the press is the new Arriva Trains West 4-coach loco-hauled set, as used on the Cardiff-Holyhead loco-hauled services. This includes 2x MkII TSO, 1x MkII BSO and MkIII RFM in the new dark blue /turquoise livery - £18.00 per set.

Co-inciding with the launch of the Class 442 on Victoria - Gatwick - Brighton services, I am please to announce that vinyl bodyside overlays are now available in Gatwick Express Livery.
These graphics incorporate the new livery and the modifications made to the motorcoach for their new role.
This pack requires 5 Farish MkIII coaches and the TPM 442 conversion kit to complete.
The 442 artwork has been substantially enhanced, with much finer detail now possible, and the SWT version will be similarly treated.
Price £22.00 for a 5-car set
Take the pain out of locomotive repaints with our new loco livery packs - coming very soon!
First up will be the Class 90 Electric Locomotive, featuring one-piece bodyside overlays, with cut-outs to allow the vents and windows from the original to show through, maintaining the original detail.
The 90 packs will be available in just about any livery that has not already been produced ready-to-run, including Railfreight Distribution, One, Freightliner, Scotrail Sleeper and many more.

This is a first draft of the artwork, showing where the cut-outs will be made - you'll just need to paint the roof, ends and side vents before applying.
Similar packs are planned for the Class 47 (original and new models) and Class 91.
Price will be £6.00 per loco.
The artwork for the Class 170 Turbostar has been revamped, allowing the vinyls to fit directly over the Farish bodysides without the need for stripping. The only work you may need to do would be to repaint the end, roof and air-dam to match.
The 170 packs come complete with a self-adhesive mask to keep the windscreen safe while repainting the end and a pre-cut windscreen with yellow panels.

Class 101 Ultrasonic Test Train Conversion
I have now updated the website with come images of the new vinyl sides on a variety of vehicles, though there is a lot more to add - in particular, post-privatisation stock. The Class 313 pages have also been updated with some images of the new vinyl sides in place on the test unit.

Just to confirm, virtually ALL Electra N Gauge products can now be ordered on pre-cut vinyl, making the job of re-liverying your coaches and units even easier than before.

I have re-vamped the HST Power car livery packs, which now incorporate a one-piece vinyl bodyside overlay, precision cut around the windows and side vents to really improve the Farish original. These are currently available in First Great Western "Fag-Packet" and Refurbished Blue, Inter-City "Executive" Livery, with other new liveries planned soon.
All Electra Railway Graphics N Gauge DMU, EMU and Coach livery packs are now available as pre-cut-self adhesive vinyl sides. No more soaking and varnishing - just peel the side off the backing paper and stick onto your coach!
These overlays are printed on photo-quality glossy vinyl and then fed into a precision cutting machine that cuts out the windows and outlines. I have been able to successfully convert the existing Electra artwork to the new format. making the odd enhancement here and there and am happy to announce that the whole range is once again available for ordering.
The good news continues...no price increases are necessary and the existing price structure has been maintained for 2008 and 2009.
Having to make all these changes to the range has meant a delay in new projects and the coming weeks will see some exciting new developments, including the release of our Class 313 EMU kit and a few surprises!
Over the next few days, I shall be fully updating the website with photos of the new range, so please bear with me.
I'd like to thank my customers for being patient while I've been "off-line" and I'm looking forward to getting up and running again!
