The Class 303 Glasgow Blue Trains were introduced in 1959(?), replacing steam operated services around Glasgow and Lanarkshire. A further batch of virtually identical units was deleivered in 1967 and classisfed Class 311. These trains had a distinctive front end with wrap-around windows, Gresley bogies and sliding doors. Most units spent their career around Glasgow, though some worked around Manchester and Crewe during the 1980s.
In the mid 1980s, the Class 303s were refurbished with new interiors, flourescent lighting and revised windows and ran until 2004, when replaced by Class 334 "Juniper" EMUs.
The Electra kit will consist of our usual high-quality vinyl overlays along with resin ends to convert 3 Graham Farish Mark 1 coaches. Gresley bogies are available from the N Gauge Society
Both Class 303 and 311s will be available in appropriate liveries - the 311s were never refurbished and were delivered in Rail Blue.
